Our comfortable camp cabins are bright and welcoming, with private bathrooms, and AIR CONDITIONING! Cabins typically house 8 campers and 2 counselors; campers can request to be in a cabin with up to 2 friends.
Our recently expanded two story Arts & Crafts Shed houses Ceramics, Jewelry Making, Leather Stamping, Painting, Woodworking, and other traditional arts and crafts. There’s something special about working with your hands, hanging out with good music and friends — it’s a happy vibe!
It’s our own culinary institute! Campers love learning to cook within their own professional kitchen.
The CBS chefs live to please the kids. Embracing a farm-to-table approach, our chefs (we have 3! plus a full kitchen staff) incorporate fresh produce from our on-site organic garden into our daily home-cooked meals. Our chef team is well-versed in catering to all dietary needs and restrictions.
Our daily menus, The Everything Bar, and late night “Kitchen Raids”, keep campers smiling all summer long. If it happens to be your birthday at camp you also get to pie someone in the face — too much fun!
Our pond is stocked with perch, bass, and catfish. Hopefully you will be lucky enough to catch our elusive 15lb catfish Larry! The Archery & Riflery ranges are covered to provide shade, and set back a safe distance from other activities.
The Gridiron is used for multiple classes throughout the day (Dance, Zumba, Cheer) and is the location of S.O.S. (Songs or Skits).
If you take a trip to the Health Center you’ll find we have a fun library, plenty of kid-friendly movies, toys, games, and more.
The Horse Arena is a 6,000 square foot shaded facility complete with a sandy loam and equestrian course. Campers ride in the shade most of the time — under the roof of the arena, or on wilderness trails. Hiking and horseback trails weave throughout the camp. The Working Barn houses most of our wildlife here on the property. We have 20 horses, many chickens, a llama, and 3 adorable donkeys.
The centerpiece of Camp Balcones Springs is Lake Ted, a private ten-acre spring-fed lake that is filled with cool, clear water. In a canyon high above Lake Travis, Lake Ted is perfect for swimming, blobbing, canoeing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, or just drifting along. Campers bounce on the water trampoline, zip down water slides, and relax on Balcones Beach!
Perfect for sailing, our private mile of the Lake Travis shoreline is a truly secluded access point. With very little surrounding development, and two sheltered coves, campers love learning to sail on Lake Travis.
At CBS we try to reinforce positive character traits throughout the term. When a camper is seen going above and beyond what is expected of them they receive PHUN! Passes to redeem at the Sugar Shack!
