On Wednesday night, campers made their way to the enchanting Rose Garden, where they were greeted by a group of mariachis serenading them. Our Mexican campers and counselors took the lead in curating a delightful array of Mexican delicacies, including a tempting churro bar with indulgent Nutella and various toppings, mouthwatering Mexican street corn, and popular Mexican candies. They also organized cultural activities such as dart balloons, lotterilla, and even set up a photo booth featuring custom-made Mojiangas, which are giant paper mache dolls. These dolls were crafted to resemble our beloved Camp Director Maggie and the dedicated full-time staff member Diego, and they were an absolute hit among the campers.
The evening’s stand out acts came from Cruz Guinn (magicician extraordinaire), Charlie Strohmeyer (piano prodigy), and the Work Crew girls of San Jac (the new-age Barton Bellas). Leadership spotlights kept the night flowing with a performance from Justin Bieber (i.e. Joshua Belisle)! The finale was an outstanding performance from Dan Kent (think: the vibrato of Frank Sinatra meets Zac Efron!) with back up dancers Harrison, Chevy, and Sheppard. Term 3 2023 CBS Talent Show was one that will go down in history.
Campers are LOVING our new pool and water toys, which is the latest attraction of the summer. Work Crew also got to enjoy a fun Zumba class with our favorite instructor!
Team Comp is ramping up as we approach the end of the term and Silver Spurs/Rough Riders and Lone Stars/Texas Rangers are looking towards the final Amazing Race next weekend!
