This friendly competition includes games like kickball, mini soccer, O-Ball, Nuke Em, and Steal the Bacon. The winners of each game earn their respective teams (Rough Riders and Silver Spurs vs. Texas Rangers and Lone Stars) points toward a head start for our highly anticipated Amazing Race at the end of the term.
Our current team competition score is:
Texas Rangers and Lonestars: 44
Rough Riders and Silver Spurs: 22
The Texas Rangers and Lonestars continue to advance their lead over the Silver Spurs and Rough Riders.
Both Axe and Ninja Star Throwing are safe, unique, and super satisfying ways to spend an an activity period at CBS! Campers and counselors alike love hearing the powerful thunk of metal hitting wood!
During Axe and Ninja Star Throwing, campers learn the importance of communication, focus, and safety protocols in a highly supervised environment. Along the way, they build confidence, improve their aim and hand-eye coordination, and get to experience one of the most memorable activities camp has to offer!
Balcones City Limits is a very special and fan favorite night event hosted only for our Term 3 campers!
Set in the picturesque meadow, the space was decorated with bandana flags and string lights overhead, pennant garland, “BCL” Hollywood letters painted like disco balls, a flowering picture frame to take photos in, with green, blue and gold hanging garland tapestries setting the backdrop for the night. Campers enjoyed fresh lemonade and real fruit popsicles, made flower crowns, blew bubbles, got their faces painted, and made concert signs! They also had lots of fun tossing giant beach balls into the crowd.
The most important part of the evening was our live band! We were honored to host the fabulous Sam Cormier and band! They had the most joyful, campy sound, playing both beautiful covers and fantastic original songs as the sun set. Live music is good for the soul! Campers and counselors danced, spun, twirled, and laughed, and everyone left the show full of joy.
BCL was undoubtedly one of the most special nights of the summer!
