Every morning after breakfast, our campers start their day off with Team Competition, AKA “Team Comp”. This friendly competition includes games like kickball, mini soccer, O-Ball, Nuke Em, and Steal the Bacon. The winners of each game earn their respective teams (Rough Riders and Silver Spurs vs. Texas Rangers and Lone Stars) points toward a head start for our highly anticipated Amazing Race at the end of the term.
Our current team competition score is:
Texas Rangers and Lonestars: 46
Rough Riders and Silver Spurs: 23
The Texas Rangers and Lonestars continue to hold their lead over the Silver Spurs and Rough Riders.
On Sunday, our campers attended Sunday Baseline in the evening, leaving time for special Sunday programming during the day. That programming was a camp-wide takeover of the Outlaws and Bandits, an epic battle and game that can best be described as a combination of Capture the Flag and a Wild Goose Chase! Campers arrived at the Soccer field after Recharge expecting “Mess Fest” to be awaiting them. Instead, they were surprised with this special Term 3 only event. To begin the event, our Leadership team “took over” camp and captured full time team members Maggie and Hillary. Campers were then placed on and initiated to two teams (Outlaws and Bandits) and sent out on missions to try and earn the most points while attempting to rescue Maggie and Hillary. Highlights from the side quests included catching a frog, making a half court shot, Supermanning someone around the basketball court, holding a handstand, putting lipstick on blindfolded, and jumping into the pool with clothes on. In the end, the Outlaw team earned the most points, winning the day’s competition.
This is such a special event that we hope to see our Term 3 campers enjoying for years to come!
