Every morning after breakfast, our campers start their day off with Team Competition, AKA “Team Comp”. This friendly competition includes games like kickball, mini soccer, O-Ball, Nuke Em, and Steal the Bacon. The winners of each game earn their respective teams (Rough Riders and Silver Spurs vs. Texas Rangers and Lone Stars) points toward a head start for our highly anticipated Amazing Race at the end of the term.
Our current team competition score is:
Texas Rangers and Lonestars: 55
Rough Riders and Silver Spurs: 31
The Texas Rangers and Lonestars have solidified their lead over the Silver Spurs and Rough Riders with a 24 point lead, earning themselves a 24 second headstart in our Amazing Race! You’ll have to ask your campers who ends up winning the term!
Here at CBS we are very proud and passionate when it comes to our sports department. This term, we wanted to do a special highlight of our soccer activity and how important this sport has been during our 2026 Term 3 thanks to the start of one of the biggest sporting events in the world, if not the biggest, the FIFA World Cup. The energy surrounding soccer this year has been electric, and our campers have been enjoying playing in soccer tournaments during activity periods and watching USA and Mexico’s world cup matches, as well as the round of 16, quarterfinals and semi-finals during recharge. It’s been so special to watch how a sport can unite different cultures and traditions here at CBS, as our campers forge new friendships that will last for years with the kick of a ball.
For our second to last night at camp, campers enjoyed Cabin Hangout, a special evening planned just for them by their counselors. Cabin Hangout is a time to slow down, spend time with your camp family, and round out the term with the cabinmates and counselors who have made camp feel like home.
The night looks different for every cabin. Our highschoolers enjoyed a spa “pamper” night, while other cabins took part in camp-wide scavenger hunts, water balloon fights, pranks, cooking competitions, slip’n’slides, beach hangouts, bonfires, and more.
No matter the cabin, this term’s Cabin Hangouts were truly something special. Our counselors poured so much time, thought, and creativity into the night, dreaming up detailed and unique experiences to help create lifelong memories for their campers.
After their hangouts, campers headed back to their cabins for a good night’s rest, with one of the biggest events of the term waiting just a few hours away: The Amazing Race!
