Our July 6th blog holds more phun updates of your campers!
At camp, we are proud of our nutritious and diverse meals that fuel your campers! Take a look at our menus of the day!
We start our day strong with breakfast!
In addition to our daily selections of creamy oatmeal and toppings, fresh fruit medley, a toast bar, and scrambled eggs with salsa and cheddar, every morning at breakfast we serve featured breakfast menu items! On Monday, your campers also enjoyed:
We refuel midday with lunch!
For lunch, we always have a salad bar, sandwich station, and buttered noodles open to our campers! Additionally, Monday they enjoyed:
We round out the day with dinner!
At dinner, our campers again enjoy our fresh salad bar, sandwich station, and buttered noodles! On Monday, we also had:
Every morning after breakfast, our campers start their day off with Team Competition, AKA “Team Comp”. This friendly competition includes games like kickball, mini soccer, O-Ball, Nuke Em, and Steal the Bacon. The winners of each game earn their respective teams (Rough Riders and Silver Spurs vs. Texas Rangers and Lone Stars) points toward a head start for our highly anticipated Amazing Race at the end of the term.
Our current team competition score is:
Texas Rangers and Lonestars: 27
Rough Riders and Silver Spurs: 14
The Texas Rangers and Lonestars maintain the lead as the Rough Riders and Silver Spurs work to close the gap!
A very select, few cabins are invited to have a special lunch at our private beach each day. These campers have received a perfect score on their cabin cleanup. They not only enjoy a chef-prepared meal down at the beach, but they get private swimming and the opportunity to tube down our brand new slip and slide!
Tess, Beach Head, has a frosty Balcones Breeze waiting for each camper at beach lunch as well. The infamous Balcones Breeze recipe has been requested and will be emailed to our camper families!
On Monday evening, our campers enjoyed Compound Night! Compound Night at CBS looks different for every age group! This special event is put together by our compound heads, with B, C, D, E, and F compounds all participating in a thoughtfully crafted event with just them in mind! Compound nights ranged from an Oscar skit competition and parade to a World Cup soccer + Shark Tank competition, a bonfire night, a lip sync battle, and the classic sunset tubing on lake Travis for our high school campers!
It was a night of special phun for all, with campers leaving feeling more connected with their compound, cabins, counselors, and compound heads.
