Term 1: Sunday Baseline + the Ted 10,000

Sundays at Camp Balcones Springs are special. Campers have a day off from their regular activity programming and instead spend the day all together for some fun, competition, and reflection. Meanwhile, our dedicated Work Crew campers get the day off from their kitchen and maintenance duties to venture outside of camp for some r&r before the next week of work begins. Read more.

Term 1, Week 1 Recap!

Term 1, Week 1 has wrapped, and we can’t believe how much fun we’ve had already! First, some activity highlights …. In our jewelry-making activity, campers made freshwater pearl rings by hand! Each camper sized her own ring and learned how to shape and twist the wire just right. It was a thoughtful, creative project — and everyone left with a beautiful ring to keep and wear with pride. Welcome Summer 2025!

Happy Summer 2025! Term 1 at Camp Balcones Springs is officially off to the races and more PHUN than ever. On Sunday night, we began camp with our classic summer tradition – team initiation – where old campers put on their red, blue, green, or purple to welcome new faces at Camp Balcones Springs onto one of four camp teams, the Texas Rangers, Rough Riders, Lone Stars, Silver Spurs. Term 4: The Fourth Time’s a Charm!

Term 4 at Camp Balcones Springs has kicked off with a ton of PHUN! On Sunday night, we began camp with our classic camp tradition – team initiation – where old campers put on their red, green, purple, or blue to welcome new faces to Camp Balcones Springs onto one of four camp teams, the Texas Rangers, Rough Riders, Silver Spurs, or Lone Stars. Term 3: See Ya Later!

We wrapped up the last few days of Term 3 with a series of ceremonial and traditional events all CBS campers look forward to every summer. First came Cabin Hangout Night, where each set of cabin counselors creates a unique experience specifically for their cabin. Campers spend dedicated time together with their fellow bunkmates and counselors on one of the last night’s of the term, solidifying their friendships and reflecting on the wonderful memories they have made together over the past few weeks.
