A Rainy Fourth of July, CBS Presents Beauty and the Beast, & Gratitude for Safety

We are so grateful to have remained safe and dry throughout the barrage of storms and flooding that hit Central Texas. We are lucky that our campgrounds are on high enough ground that we have only had to shift our focus to reprogramming activities for the indoors and finding ways to stay dry and inside during thunderstorms. We continue to hold space for all Central Texas camps, camp families, and residents who have been more significantly impacted by last week’s storms. Read more.

1..2..Term 3!

Term 3 at Camp Balcones Springs – our unique three-week session of summer camp – has kicked off with a ton of PHUN! For those of us back at camp, the first highlight of the day comes with our camp Baseline service. Each Sunday morning at CBS, we gather in our lakeside amphitheater to sing songs together, share cabin skits, and hear... Read more.

We opened the day with a gritty flag football matchup between two very strong Silver Spur and Lone Star teams. Coming into the game, experts had said that even though the Lone Stars have the best offense in the nation, their success would depend on getting past the brick wall that is the Silver Spurs defense. Almost the entirety of the first half was a standstill, with the first touchdown coming only one minute... Read more.
