That's A Wrap T3! MVAs, Rodeo Round Up & The Amazing Race!

The night started off with VIP door-to-door transportation from campers’ cabins to the Red Carpet so they could keep their looks/outfits pristine. Then,our VIP campers strutted the red carpet as they were bombarded by popperazzi and fans asking for autographs. After cooling off in the Rose Garden over some specialty mocktails, campers made their way to the Live Oak for a formal candlelit dinner where MVAs guests luxuriated in the AC and dined on delicious beef tenderloin. A Camp Music Festival, Gameday, & Ways We're Staying Cool!

The weekend was jam-packed with exciting events, starting with our annual BCL (Balcones City Limits) music festival! Inspired by the local Austin City Limts, CBS hots its own version of music, feathers, and fun every year in the Balcones Meadow. The line-up was unmatched this year with Austin-based band Motts and former CBS alum Jillie Kerwin. Jillie attended camp for 6 years and now lives in Nashville where she works in advertising by day and music by night. Term 3: Nights in San Miguel, Talent Show & More!

On Wednesday night, campers made their way to the enchanting Rose Garden, where they were greeted by a group of mariachis serenading them. Our Mexican campers and counselors took the lead in curating a delightful array of Mexican delicacies, including a tempting churro bar with indulgent Nutella and various toppings, mouthwatering Mexican street corn, and popular Mexican candies. They also organized cultural activities such as dart balloons, lotterilla, and even set up a photo booth featuring custom-made Mojiangas, which are giant paper mache dolls. Term 3: Disney Come to Life!

Disney came alive at Camp Balcones Springs Tuesday night with our very own Animal Kingdom, Star Wars Galaxy, Magic Castle, and even a CBS Epcot Ball! What really brought the magic to camp, however, were the amazing costumes brought by all the campers and counselors. Everyone looked like they had stepped straight out of a Disney movie (including many Marvel superheroes). Boys and girls made their own Mickey Mouse cupcakes at the Magic Kingdom and autograph-books signed by Disney characters. Term 3: Night Team Comp, Sunday Fun Day, & Compound Night!

On Saturday evening, all of camp gathered to watch our older boys play in the night team competition basketball game. The game between the Rough Riders and Texas Rangers was electric. The Riders, led by Ayden Green, started off hot, making their first 6 shots. But the Rangers, led by Jax Sloan, cut the lead to 10 at half. The second half was a barn burner. The Rangers started full court pressing and hitting threes, pulling within 1 with 3 minutes left.
