Summer Camp Carnival Night!

The first Monday of Term 4 at our Austin sleepaway camp was full of classic camp activities, an ice cream social for new campers, and our Carnival theme night. At Camp Balcones Springs, we structure camp activities into major and minor class days. Every other day, boys have their major classes – classes they have signed up for and will repeat throughout the term. On the alternating days, girls have their major classes. Term 4 Team Initiation + First Day!

It’s finally here! Term 4 – the last of our Camp Balcones Springs 2022 camp sessions – has begun! We kicked off the first day of Texas summer camp with costumed staff singing camp songs at our gates as families dropped off their boy and girl campers. Campers got settled into their cabins, met their counselors, and reunited with old friends – including our beloved summer camp dogs who were so happy to see a crowd of smiling faces again! Cabin Hangout, the Big Blowout, & Rodeo Roundup!

Today we will be talking about the closing events of Term 3, including Thursday’s Cabin Hangout, and the stacked term-ending events of Friday, including the Amazing Race, Big Blowout, and Rodeo Roundup – three of our most popular camp events and reasons why we are one of the top-ranked camps in Central Texas! Camp Balcones Springs Music Video Awards

Today we will be talking about the Music Video Awards, one of the most unique and celebrated traditions for kids at Camp Balcones Springs! Every summer, during Term 3 (our three-week session) only, we celebrate the CBS Music Video Awards, or MVAs. During the three weeks of summer camp, boys and girls work with their cabin mates and counselors to develop an idea for a music video they will script, direct, and film to be edited by our outstanding camp media team.
